More Sloth, Less Sleaze

I am reminded of the Seven Deadly Sins as I ponder our national politics at the highest level. The list I reviewed to refresh my memory ordered them thusly: Pride. Greed. Wrath. Envy. Lust. Gluttony. And, lastly, Sloth. The first six brought to mind parallels of specific politicians and policies that seem to have become acceptable—even ascendant—today. The resultant damage to our democratic republic by “flooding the zone” with daily, almost hourly, assaults on our national honor seems designed to overwhelm and control. I never thought I’d champion one of the Seven Deadly Sins, but as I consider today’s political scene I find myself yearning for MORE SLOTH, LESS SLEAZE.
